Irish Taikai 2008

The Dublin Club committee was given the job of organising the Irish National Championships 2008 (INC2008).

The committee has made the following arrangements and decisions.

The INC2008 will be held on 26/27 April, 2008 10:00 to 17:00 Sat & Sun in Donnycarney Youth Community Centre Sportshall, Cloncarthy Road, off Collins Ave East, Dublin 5. The hall is booked.

The competition will be held on Saturday and the seminar on Sunday. It is a basketball hall with a good floor. However, there is only room for one shiajo. Two shiajo’s would not have enough room. If there is only one shiajo it will be lots of room for everybody, one team of referees, one scoreboard and everyone will get to see the shiai.

The committee is inviting 5 referees and we hope that minimum 3 will be available. We have decided to invite Alain Yennis plus one other (Switzerland = 2), Mike Molloy (UK), Steve Bishop (UK), and Dany Delepierre (B). Mr. Delepierre I hope will lead the training at the seminar if he is unavailable we will ask Mr. Yenni and Mr. Molloy to lead the seminar training. We will have enough referees as there will only be maximum 8 teams of 3 and about 24 individual competitors in bogu.

We have moved the date of the Nationals to facilitate people from Ireland attending the London Cup on 3 & 4 May. I hope that we will be able to meet you there next.
