Due to great interest we can now offer a better rate of €60 per adult for the event.
This coveres welcome gigeiko, all the taikai's (team, ladies and individuals), the sayonara and the following morning seminar and gigeiko.
There is a €10 late booking fee for bookings made in January and Feburary, subject to management approval and availability.

Grading Info

Details

There will be a grading to 4th Dan on Sunday morning.
You need to pay your application fee before the grading but you only need to pay your registration fee after you successfully pass.
Full details on grading in Ireland, including contents and examination questions can be found in our grading policy here Grading guidelines.
Most importantly, everyone needs to email a copy of their grading certificate with payment. Also please note that overseas kendoka will need a letter of permission from their national kendo body.

Little Island sports center

Transport to sports center

There is a very good commuter train line from Cork city to Little Island and costs about €3 return. At Little Island there is about a 15 minute walk to the dojo, these trains run every 20 minutes approx and can also take you to Midleton or Cobh.
Alternatively there will be a free bus service departing from Jurys Inn Saturday morning and returning Saturday evening. This is a first come first served service and it is probably advisable to reserve a place in advance (friday evening should be ok).
Final detail will be emailed to the registered participants at the beginning of Feburary.

Facilities at the sports center

There are changing rooms, showers and a vending machine at the facility. There are several Atm's within 10 minutes walking distance. There are also several restaurants within 10 minutes walking distance, including KFC, Pizza Hut and O'Briens sanwich bar. There are also petrol stations and a spar within 10 minutes walking distance from the facility.

Accomodation:

Cork Budokai have managed to secure several special discounts for travelling kendoka from as little as €16. Please make reference to the kendo taikai and Cork Budokai when making bookings.
