As per usual this will be a fantastic event, with taikai (3 person teams, individual and ladies) and a high quality seminar under the direction of several 7th Dan Sensei. And not to forget the infamous Cork Sayonara's.

The organisers are delighted to announce that Eurokendo have agreed to sponsor the IIGT 2011.
There will be a Seminar on Friday, from 10.00am to 16.00. There will be an open Gikeiko at Cork Budokai on Friday night from 19.00 to 20.30.
The IIGT will begin on Saturday at 10.00am until 17.00. Events will be International Teams, the Peter Sherriff Memorial Shield and the Ladies Individual Tournament. On Sunday there will be a Grading Seminar, followed by a Grade Examination to 3-Dan.

The price for the full weekend, including the Friday Seminar, Friday Gikeiko at Cork Budokai, entry to the IIGT, Sayonara Party and Sunday's Seminar / Gikeiko will be €50 per person.
If you wish to attend the IIGT ONLY on Saturday, with the Sayonara Party, the price is €30 per person.
The Grade Exam is priced according to EKF Fee Guidelines and is charged seperately to the IIGT.
Grading Info
Details
There will be a grading to 3rd Dan on Sunday morning.
You need to pay your application fee before the grading but you only need to pay your registration fee after you successfully pass.

Most importantly, everyone needs to email a copy of their grading certificate with payment. Also please note that overseas kendoka will need a letter of permission from their national kendo body.

Little Island sports center
Transport to sports center
There is a very good commuter train line from Cork city to Little Island and costs about €3 return. At Little Island there is about a 15 minute walk to the dojo, these trains run every 20 minutes approx and can also take you to Midleton or Cobh.
Alternatively there will be a free bus service departing from Jurys Inn Saturday morning and returning Saturday evening. This is a first come first served service and it is probably advisable to reserve a place in advance (friday evening should be ok).
Final detail will be emailed to the registered participants at the beginning of Feburary.
Facilities at the sports center
There are changing rooms, showers and a vending machine at the facility. There are several Atm's within 10 minutes walking distance. There are also several restaurants within 10 minutes walking distance, including KFC, Pizza Hut and O'Briens sanwich bar. There are also petrol stations and a spar within 10 minutes walking distance from the facility.
